Does Anybody Write Anymore?

Thoughts on blogging and the Fledge Community

I've been waiting paitently to see if anybody was going to exploit the power of the blogging capabilities of this platform, and I find myself at the end of June 2020 still waiting. So, I suppose there is no time like the present to post something here.

For those that don't know me, I'm Jeremy Leik. I have been hanging out at the Fledge since the Grand Ledge days. I am currently the owner of an technology services business called IT's Fixed, and the Technology Coordinator at the Eaton Rapids Area District Library.

I spent more than a decade as a blogger using multiple blogging platforms before settling on WordPress. I got my start writing for online publishing back in 2000 by writing a guest post on a now defunct website. That article can now be found on my blog at

In 2017, I turned my efforts away from blogging and started making YouTube videos. As of this writing, I am now at over 1400 subscribers and am going to receive my first payment from YouTube next month. I'll admit that my videos are of a rather technical nature. This was intentional, because I wanted to address topics that I haven't been able to easily find.

You may have noticed that I have been posting in events on this platform and also in the Fledglings group. These are for my job as the Technology Coordinator at the Eaton Rapids Area District Library. In case you have been wondering, these events are meant to be beginner friendly. For the remainder of the summer, I will be alternating between having an open Q A forum and having a themed for Tech Tuesday.

Another resource of potential interest for technology beginners is the new series of videos I will be producing for the library YouTube Channel. I've got some videos scripted out, and just need to get them recorded. I'm hoping to release the first of these during the month of July.

I guess that's it for now. I've got a video to get edited tonight
